Vivo V60 launched in India: With 50MP selfie camera, 16GB RAM and AI magic, know the price

Vivo has launched its new premium smartphone Vivo V60 in the Indian market today (August 12). This smartphone is equipped with many powerful features. It has a 50Mp triple camera setup in the back with a great 50Mp selfie camera. For performance, the device has a powerful napdragon 7 Gen 4 processor and a 6,500mAh battery.

Along with this, this phone comes with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance and also has an in-display fingerprint sensor. Let us now know in detail about the price, features, specifications of Vivo V60 in India.

Design Magic: Slim, Stylish and Strong

The design of the Vivo V60 5G is its biggest strength. The company claims that it is India’s thinnest smartphone with a 6500mAh battery, measuring between 0.753 to 0.775 cm thick. The phone is available in three attractive colours: Mist Gray, Opulent Gold, and Moonlit Blue. Its quad-curved display comes with a 41-degree golden curvature, giving it a premium look.

The body of the phone uses Diamond Shield Glass manufactured by Schott, which is 37% more drop-resistant than the previous generation. The IP68 and IP69 ratings make it completely safe from dust and water, which means it can be submerged in 1.5 meters deep water for up to 120 minutes. It weighs between 192 to 201 grams, which is quite impressive considering its large battery.

Vivo V60 Price and Availability

Vivo V60 has been launched in the Indian market at a starting price of ₹36,999. It includes three storage variants. Whose price is as follows-

  • 8GB + 256GB variant priced at ₹38,999
  • 12GB + 256GB variant priced at ₹40,999
  • The top model 16GB + 512GB is priced at ₹45,999.

The phone will be available in three colors. These include Auspicious Gold, Mist Grey, and Moonlit Blue color options. It will be available for sale from August 19 on Vivo India e-store, e-commerce sites and select offline retail stores.

The new Vivo V60 phone features a 6.77-inch quad-curved AMOLED display that comes with a resolution of 1.5K (1,080×2,392 pixels), 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness level. The handset is powered by a 4nm octa-core Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 2.2 onboard storage.

Great camera setup

Talking about the camera, the Vivo V60 features a Zeiss-backed triple rear camera unit with the main sensor being a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary sensor. It also includes a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 sensor with a telephoto lens and an 8-megapixel sensor with an ultrawide-angle lens. For selfies and video calls, the phone has a 50-megapixel sensor on the front. Both the front and rear cameras support 4K video recording.

Powerful battery and fast charging

The Vivo V60 packs a 6,500mAh battery that supports 90W wired fast charging. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. The handset receives IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. It is equipped with an in-display optical fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication.

The Mist Gray variant of the Vivo V60 measures 163.53×76.96×7.53 mm and weighs 192 grams. The Auspicious Gold and Moonlit Blue models are 7.65 mm and 7.75 mm thick respectively. The gold variant weighs 200 grams, while the blue variant weighs 201 grams.The Vivo V60 comes with Android 15-based Funtouch OS 15, and the phone will receive major OS upgrades for four years and security updates for six years. It is equipped with several AI features such as AI Image Expander, AI Smart Call Assistant, AI Captions, and AI-backed Block Spam Calls tool.

Performance: Power of Snapdragon

The Vivo V60 5G has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, which is based on a 4nm process and comes with a clock speed of 2.8GHz. This processor offers 27% better CPU performance, 30% better GPU, and 26% better gaming performance than the previous generation. In terms of AnTuTu score, it can reach almost 1 million, which is great for a mid-range phone.

The phone uses LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage, which is available in 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB, and 16GB+512GB variants. Apart from this, there is also support for up to 12GB of virtual RAM, which further improves multitasking. However, some users have called the LPDDR4X and UFS 2.2 on the X as old technology, but it is good enough for everyday use and gaming.

Competition: Where does the Vivo V60 stand in the market?

The Vivo V60 competes with smartphones like the Realme 15 Pro 5G, Google Pixel 8a, OnePlus 13R 5G, iQOO Neo 10, and Honor 200 Pro 5G. In comparison, the Vivo V60’s ZEISS camera system, large battery, and long software updates make it a strong contender. However, the limited support for gaming at 60FPS may be disappointing for some users.
